Panasonic microwave NE-1853
Company:
Panasonic
Panasonic’s latest professional microwave, the NE-1853, has been given ‘approved product’ status by the Craft Guild of Chefs following testing as part of its Product Endorsement Scheme.

The NE-1853 boasts 15 power levels offering accuracy and flexibility in cooking and comes with 30 programmes, including 5 stage heating.

In addition, the NE-1853 features a power-saving and maintenance-free LED light which can be left off during cooking and set to flash on and off when the program is complete. It also sports a new “heat boost” button to give recipes a final boost to bring a dish up to temperature and a new LCD display to replace the dated LED unit. The new model has dual feed (top and bottom) for even heating and comes with 13 amp power supply.

All chefs that were involved in the testing agreed that the ability to program the LED light to flash at the end of the cooking cycle was a great idea in a busy, noisy kitchen. “Brilliant,” was one chef’s comment while another added, “I used this function with the removal of the beep as I keep the oven close to the door of the restaurant; it was very useful and the light is bright enough to notice easily. It’s very good.”
