January - February 2015: Welcome
activities and, going forward, to bring you results in a more timely manner.
This being the year of the 50th anniversary of the Craft Guild of Chefs, it gives me great personal pleasure to be able to share with you some of the events and celebrations coming up over the next twelve months. By now most of you will have received a copy of the Guild’s Diary for 2015, which gives a fantastic and detailed look in to the life of the Guild over the last 50 years.
Coming up, our Patron the Countess of Wessex will be hosting an event at St James’s Palace where she will be putting
on her judge’s hat and helping to choose a worthy college team to help create canapés for a Golden Celebration party.
A Mad Hatter’s tea party and family fun day in July celebrates the exact date when the Craft Guild of Chefs was formed. And then the grand finale: an underground dinner party in November featuring the best food the Guild’s culinary team can produce.
I do hope to see lots of old and new faces at these events; after all, these activities are for our members.
Wishing you all a happy and prosperous New Year.
Christopher Basten
National Chairman, Craft Guild of Chefs
