Written by: Edward Waddell
Celebrity chef Marco Pierre White has joined the line-up for the Skills for Chefs Conference, which will take place on 1 and 2 July 2020 in Sheffield.

The 23rd annual Skills for Chefs Conference aims to showcase the talents of ‘leading chefs’ who can share their skills and knowledge. The conference is also an opportunity to network with industry colleagues whilst discussing issues affecting chefs.

David McKown, director of Skills for Chefs said: “We are delighted to have secured Marco for the 23rd annual conference and I am sure the on stage interview hosted by Joe Hurd will be of great interest and excitement for our delegates.”

Marco, at the age of 19, went to London to train in classical french cooking with Albert and Michel Roux at Le Gavroche. He later went on to work with Raymond Blanc and Pierre Koffmann.

In 1988 he received his first Michelin star and he achieved a second in 1990. Marco became the youngest chef worldwide, at the age of 33, to win three Michelin stars in 1995.

The celebrity chef has helped to kick-start the careers of other famous chefs including Gordon Ramsey, Heston Blumenthal and Jason Atherton, all of whom trained under him.

As a major shareholder in Black and White Hospitality he is now 'dedicated' to rolling-out his restaurant concepts.

Koffmann will also be attending the Skills for Chefs Conference this summer. For more information, visit: www.skillsforchefs.org.uk.
