Kelly’s Cause supports Mental Health Awareness Week

Written by: Edward Waddell
For the upcoming Mental Health Awareness Week, 10-16 May 2021, Kelly’s Cause will be hosting two online panel discussions in collaboration with CODE Hospitality and other key industry figures.

Kelly’s Cause Foundation was started in honour of Kelly, a talented chef who took her life aged just 23-years-old. Her close friend Tobie-Anna Durk, who trained alongside her at Le Cordon bleu, founded the charity to ensure her friend’s death was not in vain.

Tickets for the virtual events are free but contain an option to donate to charity. On Monday 10 May (8-9pm) Mental Health Awareness Week starts with an online panel discussion ‘Getting Deep and Juicy’. The panel will include ‘industry legends’ discussing their honest views about life in the hospitality industry and what’s got them through their darkest moments.

On Tuesday 11 May  (11am-12pm) there will be another panel exploring people’s experience as mental health first aiders, each sharing their own unique perspective.
