How the coronavirus lockdown is changing our eating habits

Written by: David Foad
Working from home, travel restrictions and the closure of restaurants, pubs and coffee shops are reshaping eating habits in the UK. The Agriculture, Horticulture Development Board (AHDB)’s Consumer Insight team has pulled together and analysed some of the first key statistics available about these changes.

The report highlights some of the major points and offers some insights into how the catering and hospitality industry can adapt to the changes it faces.

Andrew Bennett, Chair of the Craft Guild of Chefs, has seen the full report and says: “This is fascinating data that will be useful for chefs , especially those that might be planning new menus for when customers return to eating out and for those chefs who are currently offering a delivery service to homes.”
