Written by: Edward Waddell
The Craft Guild of Chefs presented the College Accreditation Plaque to Loughborough College in a socially distant ceremony on 9 December outside the Radmoor Restaurant.

Loughborough College were the first college to achieve the Craft Guild of Chefs accreditation after they successfully passed all the standards required. The College and University Accreditation scheme was launched in July 2020 by the Craft Guild of Chefs to ‘inspire’ the next generation of chefs at grassroots level.

Darren Creed, curriculum manager, commented: “We are delighted that the college are accredited and we are already benefiting from this recognition and relationship with the Craft Guild of Chefs.”

The scheme is aimed at colleges and universities that want to benefit from the association’s decades of experience and to tap into its extensive network of chefs by associating their faculty with the Craft Guild of Chefs name.

David McKown, assessor for the scheme, added: “The guild have developed the accreditation scheme in order to recognise the great work that colleges and universities are doing in developing talent for the future of the hospitality industry.”
