Craft Guild opens applications for committee positions

Written by: Edward Waddell
The Craft Guild of Chefs has decided to make a number of changes to committee roles to better reflect the work it does and the future role it intends to play.

With the pending Craft Guild Annual General Meeting on 11 April 2021 fast approaching we elect a new committee to serve a one-year term. This is your chance to put something back into the Craft Guild and help shape the future of all that we do and stand for.

A new-look committee is being set up to manage the work of the Craft Guild in the 21st century. For the first time it will include specific roles for committee members to handle: social media, mental welfare and to promote the Guild to young chefs.

The positions available include:

  • Chairman
  • Vice-chairman
  • Young Chef Ambassador: A link between the young members and the Guild.
  • Social Media Co-ordinator: A link between our social media company and Craft Guild- Facebook/LinkedIn/Twitter/Instagram/Website/App.
  • Wellbeing: Looking after Burnt Chef/Kelly’s Cause/Beyond Food Foundation/Hospitality Action.
  • Education and training: Looking after college accreditation/training provider accreditation plus Craft Guild apprenticeships.
  • Membership & benefits: Looking at ways to gain and retain members.
  • Culinary Academy: Organising the Craft Guild’s Culinary Academy/Team.
  • Social Secretary: Look after non-professional events in the calendar and lunch clubs.

Nominations for the new-look committee are invited for those willing to serve 2021-22. The deadline for nominations is 5 March and the nomination form can be found below.
