Craft Guild of Chefs CEO announced as finalist for Institute of Directors

Written by: Edward Waddell
Andrew Green, chief executive of the Craft Guild of Chefs, has been announced as a finalist for the Institute of Directors (IOD) London and South Director of the Year Awards 2020.

Now in its 17th year, the awards recognise ‘the pinnacle of leadership and business excellence’ by highlighting the ‘significant contribution’ business leaders can make to society and the economic prosperity of a region.

The awards will be held virtually at a ceremony on 11 September 2020 where the winners will be announced.

Since becoming chief executive in 2015 Green has shifted the organisation’s focus, which has bought the Craft Guild of Chefs to its strongest financial position since its inception and ensured its future.

Green has created a space in the UK where culinary knowledge is valued and respected. He has also given chefs a clear voice and there has been a ‘substantial’ growth in membership to the Craft Guild of Chefs.

Commenting on the nomination, Green said: “It was so good to hear today that I have been shortlisted for the IOD Director of the Year Awards, such an honour, and with the team at The Craft Guild of Chefs it shows how far we have all come collectively.”
