Convotherm develops artificially intelligent combi ovens
The automatic program controls will help caterers ensure a ‘marked increase’ in process reliability and food quality at the touch of a button. The only manual work required is for operators to place a tray of identical foods into the oven.
The ‘unique’ algorithms of the ConvoSense are formed by three element capabilities, including recognition, understanding and acting.
- Recognition: optical sensor scans each individual load that is inserted to the oven.
- Understanding: Prior customer-specific intelligence training which allows ConvoServe to identify each type of load in real time.
- Acting: Active assistant system automatically chooses the appropriate cooking programme depending on the type or size of food items.
Steve Hemsil, sales director at Welbilt UK &Ireland, said: “We are delighted to be breaking waves within the catering equipment industry with the launch of ConvoSense.
“With this newly developed combi oven technology, not only will operators be able to achieve consistent quality more efficiently and more reliably than ever before, but it will also help to reduce human errors, minimise wastage and ultimately speed up further turnaround time in the kitchen!”
Launching in the UK for 2020, ConvoSense models are suited for restaurant chains and supermarkets looking for food consistency across their sites.
