Accelerating careers

What makes the Graduate Awards truly unique is that it’s an exam not a competition. There’s no limit to how many chefs can pass each year, and the programme is designed to support young chefs in the workplace who want to improve their skills and accelerate their careers. Entrants gain the chance to test themselves, learn from peers, build new industry connections, and step confidently into the spotlight.

A positive experience

Founded in 2002 by Steve Munkley MBE, the Graduate Awards were created to fill a vital gap: providing structured development for chefs after college as they progress into the industry. Today, the Awards are shaped by a dedicated committee determined to ensure every entrant has a positive, inspiring experience. This includes the popular two‑day mentor experience for all finalists in the summer. Details of this year’s trip will be revealed soon.

Semi-finalists and finalists will take on a series of challenges, beginning with a written multiple- choice paper followed by practical kitchen-based tasks that showcase technique, knowledge, and creativity.

Ready to enter?

The Awards continue to grow each year, and the Craft Guild is inviting all chefs who will be under 25 on 1 September 2026 to apply.
Entering is quick and simple. Just complete the online form before Tuesday 31 March 2026.
