Established for over 50 years and a well-known name in the hospitality industry, the distinctive lorries and vans of Allan Reeder Ltd are a familiar site on the streets of London, delivering top quality dairy produce to some of the best hotels and restaurants in town.

A true family business with Allan himself still very much involved and daughter Heidi at his side, taking care of day-to-day operations, sales and customer service.  Sons Ben and James also play an important role in the team dealing with scheduling, logistics, running the night shift and looking after the driver team – day or night there is always a Reeder around!

There can’t be many chefs who haven’t worked with Allan Reeder at some point in their career and the company prides itself on the number of longstanding customers who have remained loyal through thick and thin – some for literally decades!

Well-established doesn’t mean old-fashioned though and the company strives to respond to changing markets with an ever-increasing range of products to satisfy those with specific dietary requirements.

With food safety being of paramount importance, compliance with BRC expectations is a must. Achieving an AA* rating on an unscheduled inspection was a moment of great pride for all concerned.

The team were thrilled this year to be awarded the Family Business United People’s Choice Award as Family Business of the Year, not just for London & the South East but also, the overall National prize. The award was particularly special as it was voted for by customers, suppliers and friends and there was stiff competition from some much larger businesses.
