Young Chef Young Waiter entry date extended

Written by: Admin
The entry date for this year's Young Chef Young Waiter competition has been extended by a week from 1 July.
Philippa Brady, the competition's organiser, commented on the change of date: "Quite a few potential entrants have asked for more time to complete the entry form, so we've decided to extend the date to Monday July 11. "But that will have to be the cut-off date, so I'm appealing to everyone to get their entries in quickly." The competition has three new skill categories for both chefs and waiters this year. The new waiter awards are Best Barista, Best wine knowledge, and Best cheese knowledge and the new chef awards are Best original dish, Best dessert and Best kitchen craft. The northern chef heats will be held at Darlington College on Wednesday, 7 September 2011 and the waiter heats at Rockliffe Hall, Darlington on Thursday, 8 September 2011. Meanwhile the Southern chefs heats will be held at the University of West London, Ealing on Wednesday, 14 September 2011, with the waiter heat at Nestle's training centre, Rashleigh's in Maidenhead, on Monday 19 September 2011. And the national finals will be held at Westminster Kingsway College, London on Wednesday, 19 October 2011 with the awards ceremony in the evening. Entry forms can be downloaded from www.bha.org.uk/ycyw and Philippa Brady can be contacted at BHA on 0207 404 7744.
