Wiltshire pub celebrates National Taste of Game Week

Written by: Admin
To coincide with National Taste of Game Week, chefs at The Rattlebone Inn in Sherston, Wiltshire, have designed a menu to showcase the best of country game.
The menu, which will be available from 16-21 November, will feature favourites such as rabbit casserole as well as more unusual dishes such as Stalkers Pie. Other treats include seared pigeon breasts with Savoy cabbage, celeriac puree and wholegrain mustard, local venison haunch steak with crushed black peppercorns, whiskey and cream, and roast partridge with smoked bacon, bread sauce and rich game gravy. Owner Jason Read commented: "We wanted to demonstrate how good game can taste and the chefs have researched old country recipes and experimented with ingredients to create the finest tasting dishes. We hope that this game menu will encourage diners to try things they would not usually order."
