Unox team aiming to raise £10,000 for The Burnt Chef Project

Written by: Edward Waddell
The Unox team has committed to walk, run, cycle or swim 1,000 miles, which is the equivalent of travelling from Padova in Italy (Unox’s head office) to Camberley in Surrey (site of new Unox UK Experience Centre) to raise money for The Burnt Chef Project.

The challenge, taking place from 1st November 2022 to 16th December 2022, will raise awareness of the importance of mental health in the foodservice sector with the aim of reducing the stigma attached.

Research demonstrates that as many as four in five hospitality professionals have experienced mental health challenges, yet 46% of those would not feel comfortable talking about it with their peers. As a not-for-profit social enterprise, The Burnt Chef Project provides a range of tools, services and education to support individuals and businesses across the industry.

Scott Duncan, managing director of Unox UK, said: “Our team's progress can be tracked live on our virtual map, where our customers and partners can also donate – helping us to reach our target and supporting the fantastic work of The Burnt Chef Project in the process. We are extremely grateful to our colleagues in Unox S.p.A. for agreeing to match our fundraising total and help us to reach the £10,000 target for our first challenge.”
