
World Tapas Competition announces Rupert Rowley as judge
He is known across the industry for his technical expertise and creative flair, developed over years working in Michelin-starred kitchens. As a development chef, Rowley plays a pivotal role in advancing modern gastronomy through cutting-edge recipes, product development and chef mentoring.
Rowley will be joined on the judging panel by top international chef Jasbir Kaur flying in for the event from New Zealand, alongside acclaimed UK based Spanish chef Omar Allibhoy. Together, they will assess the UK’s top culinary talent as they battle for a place in the global final in Valladolid.
Paul Martin, director of MIDAS and competition organiser, commented: “This is a fantastic platform for UK chefs to showcase what we’re capable of. I’m excited to see who will represent the UK in Spain.”
A €10,000 first prize is on offer in Spain for the winner in addition to the prestigious title of World Tapas Chef of the Year.
