The teams selected for the qualifying heats of the UK Young Restaurant Team of the Year have been announced.

The judges will now visit the colleges selected with teams cooking and serving a French themed menu for the competition.

Vicky Enderson, MSK development chef and judge, commented: “We are looking forward to tasting the food and observing the food service in order to then select the best teams for the Grand Final.”

The other kitchen judges for the qualifying heats include Leigh Myers from Wellocks, James Begner form Welbilt and Rupert Rowley at MSK. David McKown, director at UK Young Restaurant Team of the Year, will judge the food and beverage service.

The overall winning team will embark on a gastronomic study trip to Lyon later in the year, which is being sponsored by MSK Ingredients.

The teams selected for the qualifying heats are City of Glasgow College, Eastleigh College, Leeds City College, Leicester College, Loughborough College and Sheffield College.
