UK Curry Connect partners with Craft Guild of Chefs
The collaboration should help encourage chefs to take pride in their profession by becoming a member of a professional and recognised trade body.
UKCC are working at grassroots level, looking to champion young and emerging talent, as well as get existing chefs recognised for their experience and skill. The Craft Guild of Chefs have similar aims and targets to UKCC and as such an agreement was reached to work together.
Matt Owens, chairman of The Craft Guild of Chefs commented: “We’re delighted to partner with UK Curry Connect in this exciting venture. With our shared beliefs and aims for the industry, I believe our two organisations working together can achieve even more success for our members in 2022 and beyond.”
New members that join UK Curry Connect, can now also benefit from having full membership of the Craft Guild of Chefs, along with all of its benefits too.
This includes use of designatory letters after your name and the famous crest/logo on the chef’s jacket if one so wishes. This will show chefs that wish to be seen as professional, committed and passionate towards their profession and serious about their career.
By joining through UKCC, you will be joining two of the most active trade bodies in the hospitality sector, that not only meet with politicians but also work with chefs to develop their skills.
This joint partnership will help the industry by addressing staff and skills shortages. They will also be looking to develop projects overseas including working with colleges and hotel groups.
Through this partnership they will be looking to raise the standards of professional cooking within the Asian hospitality sector where required through greater awareness, education and training. They will look to develop careers and prospects of members.
They will help chefs develop their skills and abilities through competitions and seminars held in the UK and internationally. They will also seek greater recognition for chefs and their profession within the Asian hospitality sector.
This is the first time UK Curry Connect have officially partnered with another trade body and to have done so with the historic Craft Guild of Chefs is a major achievement that will bring major benefits to the Asian hospitality sector.
