Swoon Gelato named Supreme Champion at Great Taste 2019
Swoon’s team collected the Supreme Champion trophy – as well as the Golden Fork from the South West – at the Great Taste Golden Fork Dinner held on 1 September at the InterContinental Park Lane Hotel London.
Swoon Gelato beat other regional Golden Fork winners to the top prize of Supreme Champion.
The Nocciola gelato is made with hazelnuts sourced in Northern Italy. It is the first time in 25 years that the Supreme Champion was awarded to a gelato.
Bruno Forte, owner of Swoon Gelato, said: “We are stunned and delighted to be awarded the Great Taste Supreme Champion for our Nocciola Gelato. It’s a true honour and we have all worked so very hard for this achievement.”
There were a record-breaking 12,772 entries from over 100 different countries submitted to the Guild of Fine Food, Great Taste’s organiser.
