Reunion des Gastronomes appoints new president

Written by: Edward Waddell
The Reunion des Gastronomes has announced Alison Frith, managing director of catering company Artizian, as the 52nd president.

Frith vowed to encourage more women to join the organisation, which has historically been male dominated.

She said: "I decided to take control of my own destiny and live my values through establishing a company. The driving force behind Artizian is a shared passion and belief in making a positive difference.

"The recent addition of a Nutrition and Wellbeing sister company Nutrition Bites stemmed from our nutritionally-led and chef inspired approach, encouraging eating consciously through nudging - what we at Artizian call Intelligent Eating."

Past president Wallace Vincent presented Frith with her chain of office at the organisation's Annual General Meeting. Bill Brogan, catering director at St John's College Cambridge was elected as the vice president.

The Reunion des Gastronomes was founded in 1899 by Auguste Judah, managing director of Café Royal. Frith said she was keen to continue the President's Award to help support younger professionals who are joining the organisation.
