The producers say that if you’re a pastry chef and interested in taking part, then the application process is now open.

They are looking for teams of two people, with one member of the team the team captain – usually a head pastry chef - who then nominates another team member to join them.

They say the two team members do not have to work at the same establishment, they both just need a real ‘passion for pastry’.

The current series of ‘Bake Off: The Professionals’, is currently airing on Channel 4, so you can see the format of the show if you’ve not caught it already.

Ruairi Hoskins of Love Productions said: “We want to continue to showcase and celebrate the elite from the world of professional pastry.

“With the Craft Guild one of the leading chefs’ associations in the UK, we would love to have you involved in the programme.”
