New head chef at The Elephant Hotel in Berkshire

The Elephant Hotel at Pangbourne in Berkshire has appointed a new head chef.
Chris Prow has worked in leading hotels and restaurants all over the world. Prow took to the profession more by chance when helping out one night in a French brassiere and ending up spending four years there. This was the start of a career path for him, including working in the Hyatt Park Hotel in Nice, before returning to South Africa and finally moving to England. Game and meat is a particularly high priority for Prow. A personal favourite item in his kitchen is Malden sea salt and a combination which he enjoys is vanilla with fish. He is famed for his appearances on BBC Radio Berkshire. Hotel manager Annica Eskelius said: "We are delighted to have Chris on the team at The Elephant. His passion and flair for food comes through in his dishes and fits in extremely well with The Elephant's ethos of serving local food in a simple and classic manner."
