Michel Roux Jr hosts exclusive antiques charity evening
Famed Le Gavroche chef, Michel Roux Jr, has joined forces with some of the Capital’s finest antique dealers to bring Londoners a once in a lifetime opportunity to dine with him.
On Wednesday 30th March, the celebrated chef and Simon Phillips, owner of Ronald Phillips antiques in Mayfair will host an exclusive dinner for only 20 guests at his newly-opened venture, Roux at The Landau. The dinner, which is being hosted in aid of the London charity, the Dispossessed Fund, will see the restaurant's private dining room transformed with an array of antiques worth around £3 million. Pieces on show will include a pair of Regency Ormolu mounted mahogany side cabinets, which were made circa 1810 for Windsor Castle and a Regency Rosewood Brass inlaid centre table, made in 1820. When asked about his involvement in the event, Roux Jr said: "As someone who is passionate about history, I loved the idea from the word go. I'm always looking for ways to innovate and offer my customers something new and exciting. "I knew immediately that it would make for a very special evening, as well as being a great way to raise money for a worthwhile cause - I'll also be running for the Fund when I take on the London Marathon in April."
