Michael Caines restaurant given just one star hygiene score
A report in today’s Daily Telegraph describes how Michael Caines’ restaurant, within the four-star ABode hotel, has received a one star rating by hygiene inspectors from Canterbury City Council.
A one star rating is defined as "a poor level of compliance with food safety legislation – much more effort required". The general manager at ABode in Canterbury, Kent is Declan Kelly and he told the Telegraph: "I am afraid procedures were not adhered to as strictly as we would have liked and we did not perform as well as we should have.
"The issues have been addressed and I am very happy with the systems we now have in place. I just wish we could be re-assessed because I am very confident we would score very well."
