London university appoints chef Chris Galvin as visiting professor of practice
Chris has worked in the culinary industry for over 50 years in both the UK and the US, and during this time he has built an ‘outstanding professional reputation’ as a recognised leader in the culinary field.
He is a chef and owner of family–run Galvin Restaurants founded in 2005 alongside his brother, Jeff, and is a member of the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts and a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality.
Chris will act as an ambassador for the joint programmes between Birkbeck and Le Cordon Bleu London; the BBA Culinary Industry Management and MSc Culinary Innovation Management.
He commented: “It is an absolute honour to be appointed and I feel very privileged to be able to share my experiences and knowledge from my time working in hospitality.
“Having worked with Le Cordon Bleu for many years now, it feels great to be able to work on this programme and hopefully be able to inspire students and share current business trends. I have always believed work experience that is supported by education is the perfect combination. I am a true believer in lifelong education.”
