London Restaurant Awards return

Written by: Admin
The London Restaurants Awards are returning in September after three years, with some of the UK's well-known critics judging the event.
The prestigious awards will be taking place on 1 September at Grosvenor House, London. Critics taking part are Charles Campion (Evening Standard), Giles Coren (The Times), Teery Durack (The Independent), Tracey MacLeod (The Independent on Sunday) Fay Maschler (Evening Standard), Matthew Norman (Sunday Telegraph) and Jay Rayner (The Observer). ITN's Katie Derham will reveal the 2008 award nominees at ITV's London Television Centre on 10 June. And for the first time ever, there will also be an award for restaurants outside London. Amanda Biddle, London Restaurant Awards organiser, commented: "The London restaurant scene is abuzz at the moment. Even in the short time we've been away, new faces and trends have emerged. It is a fascinating and dynamic time to acknowledge the best restaurants our industry has to offer." The awards will be sponsored this year by aAIM, a commercial property investment company. Previous winners include Le Gavroche for Outstanding Front of House Team, Nobu for the Award of Excellence and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay for Best Overall Restaurant.
