Following months of anticipation, TV chef James Martin has announced the official opening date for his new UK restaurant.
The Leeds Kitchen, situated at the Alea Casino in Clarence Dock, is set to open to the public on Saturday 9 April 2011, serving best of British cuisine with a twist. Having recently had the honour of being made a Yorkshire Patron, James' new venture has already contributed to the City of Leeds employment drive, with over 25 experienced chefs and front-of-house staff recruited in preparation for opening. As well as the restaurant, James' team will be responsible for the delivery of catering for all functions within the casino's events spaces. Martin said: "Leeds and Yorkshire is the perfect place for me to open my new restaurant. With a great young team, both in the kitchen and front of house, we are really looking forward to the opening. "Being a Yorkshire man, it's not hard to understand why the produce is so good in the area and we are going to use it to maximum affect on the menu. As well as the restaurant, we have great function rooms and even a private cinema to hire for our customers, which is something different for any event or party. I hope to see you all from the 9th." Michael Silberling, CEO of London Clubs International added: "Clarence Dock is a fantastic location, with the potential to be a bustling retail destination for Leeds. The Leeds Kitchen by James Martin adds a significant offering to Clarence Dock, and James' passion for local produce and local suppliers is a massive boost for the area."
