Lake District lays claim to highest number of Michelin starred restaurants outside of capital
With the exception of London, the Lake District can now lay claim to the highest number of Michelin starred restaurants in the UK.
L’Enclume in Cartmel became the first ever restaurant outside the capital and the South East to be awarded three Michelin stars.
Seven other Michelin starred restaurants are together putting the area on the map for more than just spectacular scenery. The restaurants other seven restaurants include: Old Stamp House, Cottage in the Woods, Rogan & Co, Askham Hall, The Dog & Gun, Skelton and Gilpin Hotel and The Forest Side.
