Kent Restaurant Awards reveals Best Indian eateries

The Kent Restaurant Awards in Association with OrderOnlineNow.co.uk – the online restaurant booking and takeaway ordering system – have announced the six finalists in the Best Indian restaurant category.
The top six in alphabetical order are: India Royal – Faversham, Jalsha Indian – Canterbury, Raja Indian Restaurant –Maidstone, Raja of Kent – Tenterden, Prince of India Restaurant – Faversham and Spice Lounge – Faversham. The awards have now moved onto the judging phases where a panel of independent food critics and journalists will visit each of the finalists and evaluate restaurants according to certain criteria. Marks out of a 100 will be awarded according to quality of the cooking (up to 50), service (20), ambience (10), use of local produce (10) and support of sustainable farming practices (10). Five Indian restaurants have also been nominated for Best Takeaway: Prince of India – Faversham, Rajver Indian Restaurant – Biddenden, and Spice Indian Restaurant - Tunbridge Wells and Zarin Indian Restaurant – Ashford. The winners will be honoured at a black tie dinner being held at Ashford International Hotel on Thursday 28th January.
