Harrogate Hospitality and Tourism Awards announced

Written by: Admin
Kenneth Poon, from the Orchid Restaurant in Harrogate, has scooped the chef of the year title at this year's Harrogate Hospitality and Tourism Awards.
Organised by Destination Harrogate, an association of leading hotels in the town, hosted by Neil Morrissey and Richard Fox from channel 4's Risky Business and sponsored by local businesses - the event awarded the individuals and businesses from within the town's hospitality sector who help to maintain Harrogate's reputation for excellent customer service. Other high fliers included Akef Awajan from Rudding Park Hotel, who won the waiter/waitress of the year award, Alex Evans, of Pitcher and Piano, who achieved the bar person of the year title, and Edward Martin from The Crown Hotel, who walked away with the Newcomer of the year accolade. Meanwhile one of the main categories, Ambassador of the Year, was awarded to Sir Thomas Ingilby for his continuous dedication to the town and the surrounding area. The awards ceremony took place earlier this month at the prestigious Royal Hall in Harrogate, with award winning caterer Kudos Hospitality serving up fine dining cuisine.
