Gregg Wallace returns to Lancashire
Masterchef presenter Gregg Wallace is returning to Cassis at Stanley House Hotel in Mellor to host an evening celebration of Lancashire produce and hospitality on Saturday, June 6, from 7.30pm.
Gregg is teaming up with head chef of the award-winning Cassis, Steven Smith, to treat 50 guests. Commenting on the evening ahead, Gregg said: "I'm looking forward to returning to Cassis again and working alongside Steven on what I hope will be a memorable night for all the guests. Lancashire is home to some very fine food producers and I know the seasonal ingredients will be second to none. "I very much enjoyed my first stay at Stanley House last Christmas, when I took part in the Ladies Who Lunch event, and this time I'll have a couple of days to get out and about and really explore the region." Steven's three-course menu is inspired by the Ribble Valley. It will feature seasonal Lancashire specialities including white and green asparagus with a crispy hens egg and summer truffle Hollandaise for starters, corn-fed chicken with morel mushrooms and garlic foam, and a strawberry jelly dessert with clotted cream ice cream and champagne espuma for dessert. During dinner, Gregg will offer his own insightful commentary on the regional ingredients used in each of the dishes. Over coffee and petit fours, he will then lead an open floor question and answer session with the guests. For further information or tickets, call Stanley House Hotel on 01254 769200.
