Written by: Admin
For the first year ever The Food List: Britain's Top 100 Restaurants has been published in association with Rémy Martin, Harden's and The Sunday Times.
Gidleigh Park restaurant in Devon was crowned the best eatery in Britain. Heston Blumenthal's famous Fat Duck restaurant came a close second. And Marcus Wareing's restaurant in The Berkeley Hotel gained number three spot, followed by The Ledbury in fourth. Finishing off the top five is The Waterside Inn in Bray, Berkshire. Assessment for The Food List: Britain's Top 100 Restaurants is based on food alone, the most important aspect of any dining experience. The list was voted for by 8,000 restaurant-goers up and down the country. Almost 100,000 restaurant reviews were generated in total. Anthony Habert, senior brand manager for Rémy Martin at First Drinks commented: "For the past ten years, Rémy Martin has proudly sponsored the Harden's UK Restaurant Guide. We are delighted to take this association to the next level by sponsoring what I believe to be the most objective and authoritative list of Britain's top 100 places to eat." "Rémy Martin has long been associated with fine dining, so this is the ideal platform for us to really expose the brand's range of premium cognacs to a huge number of existing and potential new cognac drinkers." Richard Harden, co-publisher of the Harden's guides, said: "We were really pleased when Rémy Martin proposed we should use our data to produce a Top 100 list of the UK's restaurants. I am delighted with the end result. I think the list gives a handy 'quick fix' on the restaurants across the UK that really are 'worth travelling for."
