Donut Worry Be Happy creates #SmileForDonuts campaign

Written by: Edward Waddell
Belgian doughnut brand Donut Worry Be Happy (DWBH) has created a global campaign to boost morale across foodservice by celebrating International Donut Day on 4 June 2021.

#SmileForDonuts is a social media-driven campaign which encourages customers to take a bite out of their doughnut, take a selfie and upload to Instagram, Twitter or Facebook tagging @DWBH_UK.

Donut Worry Be Happy will then donate a doughnut or the value of a doughnut to Hospitality Action. The campaign is aiming to achieve 100,000 doughnut smiles shared globally.

Over the past year Hospitality Action has helped many hospitality households and communities facing a financial crisis. A £100 donation pays for new interview clothes and shoes to help hospitality workers get back to work following redundancy.

Rebecca Dunning, owner of DWBH, said: “This is a first for Donut Worry Be Happy and it is a pleasure to be able to raise funds for a charity that is offering a crucial lifeline for hospitality workers who have been made redundant as a result of the pandemic.

“From Ruffallo Cream, with its fresh coconut-glaze and filled to the brim with a fresh Raffaello-style cream, to Belgiyum and its real Belgian chocolate filling, there are a wide range of doughnuts to suit every desire.”
