Craft Guild of Chefs member Patrick ‘Cam’ Faherty passes away

Written by: Edward Waddell
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our longest serving members from the London Division Patrick ‘Cam’ Faherty, after a couple of years of ongoing health issues.

Patrick ‘Cam’ Faherty was a catering lecturer at Lewisham College from around 1972 until 2000. When retired he put in a lot of time supporting the London Division, holding various positions of treasurer, membership and social secretary. He was always keen to support the events of the association and the subsequently the Craft Guild within their committee.

He had been encouraged into competition participation alongside his colleagues Arthur Vogenburger and Frank Bond to name a couple. He joined the London division committee of what was then The Cookery & Food Association, pre being re-named The Craft Guild of Chefs.

A proud Irishman, he would go back as often as he could. A great father to his two daughters and one son, he was married to Margaret for just over 55 years.
