Following much deliberation, a judging panel of leading industry representatives has selected 40 chefs who will be feted at the prestigious awards ceremony at the Westminster Park Plaza Hotel on Thursday, June 2. The Special Award sponsored by Sodexo UK & Ireland, chosen by the committee of the Craft Guild, will go to a person who above all others has made an enormous contribution to the industry. Also, for the first time, the Craft Guild of Chefs has introduced the People's Choice Award sponsored by Dudson to recognise one of the industry's unsung heroes, who has demonstrated real commitment to their job and deserves recognition. Since the voting opened for the nominated candidates on April 19, the votes are already in the hundreds. The closing date for votes is Friday, May 13.
