Chef Raymond Blanc leaves John Radcliffe Hospital after fall
Raymond Blanc, chef patron of Le Man ir aux Quat’Saisons, who suffered a fall downstairs at his Oxfordshire home, breaking his leg and ankle in six places, has left hospital.
Since the accident on 1st March, Blanc has had two operations to set the broken bones in his tibia and ankle - at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. Blanc said: "I cannot praise the surgeons and staff of the John Radcliffe highly enough. They have looked after me exceptionally well and made sure I did not suffer unnecessary pain. I am trying to look at this as an opportunity to write at least one of the books I have been meaning to get around to. "I shall recuperate at Le Manoir as I have to stay off my feet for another twelve weeks. However, this means that I can work with my team – lead by Philip Newman-Hall Director General Manager and my two brilliant generals - my executive chef, Gary Jones and chef pattisier, Benoit Blin."
