Chef Angela Hartnett to open new restaurant in January 2013
Michelin-starred chef Angela Hartnett will be joining forces with the Lime Wood Hotel to open a new restaurant next year.
The celebrated chef will work alongside Luke Holder, Lime Wood's head chef, to create a brand new restaurant at the New Forest hotel. Lime Wood's new restaurant, name still to be decided, will open in late January 2013 in the hotel's original David Collins-designed room, which is undergoing an extensive makeover by Martin Brudnizki. The restaurant will be open seven days a week with a menu of Italian-influenced forest dishes. Inspired by the local foods available both farmed and foraged; Hartnett said: "I am very much looking forward, not only to working with Luke and the team, but also to working closely with the many very local artisan producers in the area. I think Lime Wood complements perfectly my Murano restaurant. They are a great bunch of fun yet really professional people at Lime Wood, that's the reason why I wanted to work with them." Chairman of the Lime Wood Group, Robin Hutson, added: "We are thrilled to have Angela on board. I have been a long time admirer of her style and cannot wait for Luke and Angela to start working together. This is a natural partnership that will be one to watch in the coming months and years. Additionally, having worked with designer Martin Brudnizki during my time in the hotel industry, I know he will create one of the most innovative restaurant spaces in the UK." Luke Holder said: "I've always been a fan of Angela's food and am really excited to be working with her. We are already working together on dishes for the new restaurant it¹s all coming together very well indeed."
