Situated on Clarence Dock, the best of British eatery aptly named The Leeds Kitchen by James Martin, is scheduled to open towards the end of March 2011. Yorkshire born James will transform the current restaurant on the ground floor – previously named 'The Fig' – into a contemporary, fine dining over 18's establishment. Leeds based interior designer, Carolyn Parker, will start work on the project within the next few weeks. Alea is a modern casino and already home to 'The Bird Restaurant' which is run by twice Michelin starred chef, Vineet Bhatia. The casino also boasts five bars set in opulent décor as well as hosting various events and conferencing space – making it the perfect venue for a new celebrity eatery in Leeds. James Martin said: "As I'm a born and bred Yorkshire man, I have been searching for the right location for some time and Alea and Clarence Dock have everything I am looking for. I can't wait to open shortly, and deliver – along with my team - some of the best of British cooking Leeds has experienced."
