Albert and Michel Roux Jr announce first restaurant partnership in 19 years

Written by: Admin
Father and son Albert and Michel Roux Jr are working together for the first time in 19 years in a new collaboration with The Langham, London.
This new partnership brings the Roux's culinary expertise and creativity to the newly re-named Roux at The Landau, their second West End address. Roux protégé Chris King has been chosen as chef de cuisine. He has worked at Le Gavroche over the past five years. The front of house team will continue to be headed up by industry veterans Franco Becci, restaurant manager, and Zach Saghir, head sommelier, who have been with the restaurant since its opening three years ago. Michel Roux Jr said woking with the new chef is an exciting prospect: "Chris King is a rising star, and his menus reflect the Roux trademark style of classically-constructed French dishes, blended with today's tastes for lighter choices. He has a modern approach to combining ingredients, and a contemporary style of presentation." Katie Benson, managing director of The Langham, London added: "This is a true partnership, bringing together the formidable talents of Albert and Michel Roux Jr. With the Roux's new talent of Chris King, we can build on the restaurant's acknowledged standards of elegance and seamless service with exceptional new food."
