Graham Squire from Claridge's Hotel, London won the Young Chef Award at this year's annual Craft Guild of Chefs' Awards held on the 16th June.
At the age of 16, Graham Squire joined Claridge's as an apprentice chef, while studying at Bournemouth College. In 2004 he graduated with honours and has since worked his way through the brigade at Claridge's to his current role of chef de partie.
He is described as "an inspiration and a dedicated and highly skilled member of the team". In addition to his day-to- day job, he is a keen competitor, with his most notable achievement being his involvement with the 2007 World Skills competition in Japan, at which he represented the UK and embarked on an intensive training programme in the run up to the event.
