Inspiring Culinary Generations welcomes applications to cookery competition

Written by: Edward Waddell
Inspiring Culinary Generations has welcomed entries to its national cookery competition for children, young catering students and keen home cooks.

The cookery competition offers the chance for non-professional cooks to gain recognition for their cooking ability and for catering college students to showcase what they have learnt.

The competition categories include:

  • Aspiring Student Chefs: 11-13 and 14-16 age groups – submit a signature main course recipe.
  • Aspiring Student Chefs: 16-18 age group – submit a game recipe.
  • Keen Home Cooks (19 years-old and over) – submit and cook their signature two-course dinner party menu.

The winner of the Aspiring Student Chef in each of the three classes will be put forward for a three-year specialised Chefs Scholarship training to become a fully qualified chef. The winner of the Keen Home Cook category will win a luxury hamper full of cooking and foodie goodies.

The judges, chaired by Lesley Waters, will shortlist the online entries to choose national finalists to cook at their respective National Finals in January / February 2022.

Online and postal entries are open and can be submitted individually or via schools and colleges. Entries close on 29th October 2021 with the shortlisted finalists cooking at the Bournemouth & Poole College and at The Studio, Lincolnshire in January/February 2022.
