With the nominations in for the prestigious Craft Guild of Chefs Awards, Brian Young, director general of the British Frozen Food Federation, explains why the Federation is showing its support for the awards and for one particular accolade.
"The Craft Guild of Chefs Awards has been a highlight on the industry's calendar for many years now. We are very pleased to be involved with the ceremony this year, and have chosen to sponsor the Cost Sector Chef award to support the best chefs in one of the most challenging areas of foodservice.

"With the affects of last year's recession still hitting kitchens across the country, frozen food has offered cost sector caterers quick and convenient access to premium quality, healthy nutritious meals and ingredients and is perfect for busy kitchens.

"The Craft Guild Awards are strictly judged to find the best chefs from across the country. Hundreds of nominations have been collected and entrants will be assessed on many different criteria from technical skills to menu content.

"We are excited to see who will have been shortlisted on 10 May and are pleased and proud to support these hard working individuals."
