25th June 2009
Winner: Nigel Boschetti,The Royal Lancaster Hotel
As executive chef at The Royal Lancaster, Nigel Boschetti is certainly not short of adulation.
He was responsible for singlehandedly turning around the menu offering at the hotel. He has also been instrumental in hosting a number of prestigious events at the four star establishment, the Thai king's diamond jubilee in July 2006 being perhaps his most notable feat. Here, he served a three course Thai banquet to 600 guests.
Other top events that have taken place at The Royal Lancaster include the Hospitality Action Ball 2009, the 2007 Craft Guild of Chefs Awards dinner and the Hotel Cateys.
Boschetti and his team have hosted three events for Springboard and, in each case, he has been successful in securing in kind sponsorship for all ingredients for the menu.
