World Tapas Competition to feature UK heats for first time

For the first time ever, the UK heats for the World Tapas Competition will be held in Sheffield on 16-17th July. The winner will then have the opportunity to compete in Spain for a grand prize of €10,000.

Paul Martin, director of UK World Tapas, said: "We are delighted to have secured the license to host the UK heats of the prestigious World Tapas competition. Heats currently take place worldwide, including in New Zealand, the United States, and Mexico, so it is great news to hold them in the UK for the first time.

“Valladolid in Spain proudly hosts the World Tapas Competition every November, and this famous event has firmly established Valladolid as a key destination in the world of tapas gastronomy."

Sponsors and business partners are currently being sought to support the project. Additionally, a delegation will travel to Spain for the World Tapas Championship Finals from 10-13th November, which includes an exclusive culinary tour of Madrid and Valladolid.
