Wembley Stadium partners with Tom Shepherd to curate bespoke menu

Tom Shepherd, chef and founder of Michelin-starred restaurant Upstairs in Lichfield, is bringing fans the ‘ultimate matchday experience’ as he curates an exclusive menu for the Carabao Cup Final (16th March), the Emirates FA Cup semi-finals (26th April) and FA Cup Final (17th May).

Dining Experience by Tom Shepherd enriches the gastronomical hospitality experience for members at Wembley Stadium.

The menu, which has been designed by the award-winning chef, will pair culinary excellence against a backdrop of sporting excitement. Served in the Laurent-Perrier champagne lounges to 80 diners, offering ‘outstanding views to savour every bite and every second of the game’.

The menu uses the finest local ingredients to showcase traditional British dishes and flavours such as Herefordshire beef tartare and Atlantic cod. Each course will be paired with wine and champagne to further complement each dish.

Guests can enjoy Shepherd’s signature dessert, ‘No Ordinary Schoolboy’ - white chocolate banana filled with banana mousse and popping candy, a side of banana cake, caramel, banana ice cream and granola. The technical dessert was first devised for the Great British Menu.

Paul Scannell, head of experiences by Wembley Stadium, said: "We are thrilled to partner with Tom Shepherd for some of our biggest events at the stadium. This new menu perfectly encapsulates the spirit of Wembley, elevating and complementing exceptional culinary experiences throughout the stadium.

“This is the first of many ways in which we are further elevating the experience for our members. The Carabao Cup is a sell-out and we’re delighted to be bringing Dining Experience by Tom Shepherd to our members.”

Shepherd is known for his modern, seasonal interpretation of classic dishes and has over a decade of experience working in some of the UK’s finest kitchens.

In 2021, he opened his restaurant Upstairs By Tom Shepherd, which was awarded a Michelin Star just four months after opening and has a waiting list of ten months. At the 2023 Craft Guild of Chefs Awards, the New Restaurant of the Year accolade went to Upstairs by Tom Shepherd.

Shepherd added: "I’m a huge football fan, so I am over the moon to create Dining Experience by Tom Shepherd for such huge football fixtures.

“The menu reflects our rich British heritage and the excitement of matchday tournaments - myself and my team intend to deliver a brilliantly memorable experience that will no doubt be matched by the finalists on the pitch too!”
