Unox backs its sustainability mission with ImpactLoop partnership

Written by: Edward Waddell
Oven manufacturer Unox UK is continuing to deliver on its sustainability promises after undertaking TM65 mid-level assessments for one of its most popular commercial combi oven ranges and a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).

Unox has undertaken TM65 mid-level assessments for models within the MIND.Maps PLUS range, which details the total amount of carbon emissions produced during the entire lifecycle of a product.

This includes the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) released from the stage of raw materials being extracted from the ground, through to the manufacturing, use and disposal at the end of a product's lifespan.

Unox welcomed the ImpactLoop team to its headquarters in Camberley to host one of their sustainability workshops, with a focus on building a roadmap to drive their joint sustainability mission forward.

Scott Duncan, managing director of Unox UK, said: “We are incredibly proud to be one of the first combi oven manufacturers to complete a Life Cycle Assessment. With our ongoing commitment to working directly with ImpactLoop, we look forward to providing more insightful reports to help businesses across every foodservice sector build more data-driven strategies to help them operate more sustainably.

“As a manufacturer we recognise we have a responsibility to provide the foodservice industry with sustainable solutions, as our carbon footprint has a direct impact on operators’ Scope 3 emissions. Our partnership with ImpactLoop has not only been put in place to benefit Unox, but our end-users, dealers, and kitchen designers we work with as well.

“Although we may sit in different stages of the supply chain, we are all connected and therefore must work together to create positive change. We intend to do our part by making ourselves accountable and creating the most energy-efficient ovens on the market.”
