University College Birmingham wins ‘Best Use of English Lamb’ Award
A team from University College Birmingham (UCB) won the ‘Best Use of English Lamb’ Award at the UK Young Restaurant Team of the Year 2025 competition.
The award, presented by Karl Pendlebury from AHDB specifically for showcasing outstanding British lamb, was won by UCB’s student team of Sanskar Jajoo, Alisha Lad and Kamran Mehmood.
The ‘Best Use of English Lamb’ Award highlights sustainability, provenance, and support for UK farming communities.
David McKown, director of the competition, commented: “Judges praised the students for their skilful preparation, and inventive use of English lamb. This accolade strengthens UCB’s reputation as a leading centre for food and hospitality education.”
