UK Young Restaurant Team of the Year launches with innovation theme
Organisers have announced that ‘Innovation in Modern Cuisine’ will be the focus, with teams encouraged to experiment while showcasing professional skill and flair. Entries are now open, with a closing date of 16th January 2026.
From the submissions, eight teams will be selected to compete in the live semi-finals on 11th March 2026 at Lainston House in Winchester. The competition is a launchpad for young talent in the hospitality industry and the 2026 edition promises to raise the bar once again.
Chair of judges Vicky Enderson and MSK ingredients director, set out the challenge: “This year we ask teams to combine unexpected textures or flavour profiles with cutting-edge cooking techniques. We are also looking for interactive or theatrical elements that elevate the dining experience and capture the imagination of today’s guest.”
The UK Young Restaurant Team of the Year has become a highlight in the industry calendar, celebrating collaboration between kitchen and service teams while giving future leaders of hospitality a chance to shine.
By embracing innovation, the 2026 competition aims to reflect the evolving expectations of diners, while showcasing the creativity and professionalism of the sector’s rising stars. For more information visit: www.restaurantcompetition.co.uk.
