Top chefs to cater for Hospitality Action’s summer Charity Polo Day

Written by: Katie Imms
Industry charity Hospitality Action is hosting its second Charity Polo Day this summer (25 June), following its successful launch last year.

Enlisting the help of North West chefs: Andrew Nutter (Nutters Restaurant), Simon Shaw (El Gato Negro) and Sean Sutton (The Alderley Edge Hotel), the event will include a three-course meal, introductory polo demonstration, and charity raffle and auction.

Following a gin and tonic, champagne and canapé reception, each chef (who also catered for last year’s event) will then prepare one course each, including:

Starter Andrew Nutter – pan seared seabass with garlic, heritage potato, samphire and sauce vierge

Main course Sean Sutton: aged sirloin of Cumbria beef, smoked cheek and black truffle jus

Dessert Simon Shaw: lemon tart with fresh raspberries and meringue

Shaw said: “Last year’s Charity Polo event was a brilliant day and I’m really happy to re-join forces with Andrew and Sean for round two.

“Hospitality Action is a great organisation, providing invaluable support to hundreds of people in the industry year after year.

“However, they can only do this with the help of generous fundraisers, and so we ask everyone to get behind the event and dig deep so that we can smash last year’s figure!”

The £85 per person ticket (or £800 for a table of 10) also includes half a bottle of wine per person and a post-match afternoon cream tea, and can be purchased via: www.hospitalityaction.org.uk/events.
