Talent Hive’s inaugural charity golf day proves a hit

Written by: Edward Waddell
Talent Hive, the speciality hospitality recruiter, held its inaugural charity golf day at The Belfry Hotel & Resort in Warwickshire raising more than £8,000 for the Burnt Chef Project and bringing together operators and suppliers from across the industry in the process.

The event saw 120 people come together at one of the country’s most prestigious resorts. Around half of the group enjoyed a morning on the Brabazon golf course, host of the Ryder Cup a record four times, on a sunny June morning.

Others enjoyed an inspiring talk from award-winning motivational speaker Penny Haslam, while others demonstrated their skill in a hotly contested shuffleboard tournament.

The whole group enjoyed a Vegas-themed evening, complete with casino, games and a charity raffle, where the winners from the day were announced and discussions around mental health support were put front and centre.

Raising money to support the ongoing work of The Burnt Chef Project, the day served as a fantastic way to meet and network with industry colleagues, hear the latest from Kris Hall and his team at The Burnt Chef Project and meet suppliers from across the sector.

Thanks to the generous prize donations and funds raised from the challenges and games on the golf course, the total raised for The Burnt Chef Project exceeded £8,000.

Kris Hall, founder and chief executive at The Burnt Chef Project, said: “We want to say a huge thanks to Will and his team at Talent Hive for all the effort they’ve put into their golf event.

“It was a truly exceptional day that has not only raised thousands of pounds but also helped to raise awareness of the need for mental health support across all aspects of the hospitality industry. The event, which brought together operators and suppliers from across the country, was a fantastic showcase of all that’s great about our wonderful sector.”

Following the success of the inaugural Talent Hive Charity Golf Day, the planning has begun for the event in 2026.
