Seafood from Scotland Award for UCB Team

University College Birmingham (UCB) competed in the national final of UK Young Restaurant Team of the Year Competition, winning the Best Use of Seafood from Scotland Award.

The accolade was presented by Adam Wing, head of trade marketing – UK, Middle East & Asia for Seafood from Scotland. This award recognises outstanding skill in utilising excellent Scottish seafood.

The team members were Sanskar Jajoo, Alisha Lad and Kamran Mehmood. At the final, the team impressed judges with exceptional technique, demonstrating a deep respect for the produce. 

This win adds to UCB’s growing reputation in national competitions. It underscores the institution’s strength in training chefs who can meet industry demands while celebrating regional British ingredients.
